The Board of MakoLab S.A. informs that on 24 November 2010 it received the signed contract for implementation of the ColDis management system in a developer company active on the Polish market of commercial estates.
The total value of the signed contract is 213.300 PLN net, and its realization will begin in November 2010.
The aforementioned information is considered significant by the Board of MakoLab S.A., since the extension of the number of clients of the ColDis system is an important element of the company’s strategy, while the realization of the contract will influence its financial result in the 4th quarter of 2010.

A new website of the Jewish Cemetery in Łódź was published in November.
The first Jewish Cemetery in Łódź was established in 1811 on Wesoła street. In 1892 it was extended and replaced with a new Jewish cemetery, located on Bracka street.
The mausoleum of Izrael Poznański is located near the representative avenue. One can also visit the tombs of other industrialists of Łódź – Barcińscy, Jarocińscy, Rosenblatts, Stillers. Moreover, painter Stanisław Heyman, doctor Seweryn Sterling, Elias Chaim Majzel – rabbi of the Jewish Community in Łódź, as well as the parents of poet Julian Tuwim and composer Artur Rubinstein are buried here.
On the website one can find information related to the cemetery, the unique burial rites and timeless symbols located on the tombs. The short history of the cemetery is also worth discovering – it will surely encourage to learn more about this extraordinary people.
The site also includes a detailed plan of the cemetery as well as memories of those who passed long ago. The Photos tab contains a huge collection of impressive photos of the cemetery, taken from different perspectives and during different seasons.
In 1980 the cemetery was entered into the registry of landmarks, which contributed to the attempts to save the necropolis.

The conference is dedicated to all important issues pertaining to functioning of shopping centers in Poland as well as in Europe. Our cooperation with the countries of Asia expands. After the success in Singapore, time has come for Renault India, which has refreshed its website using the RSI-CMS online version. As the name suggests, the shopping center is located in the building of an old printshop. Initially under the name „Astoria”, the center now returns to its roots and a name related to the place. It is a place for making stylish shopping in Bydgoszcz, a gathering of exclusive boutiques, a modernist accent in the center of the city founded in an industrial edifice.
Along with the refreshment of the center itself, the Printshop’s webpage has also been changed. The color scheme and design of the website are associated with the world of fashion, which is exhibited by the site’s stylistic accents.
Functional-wise, the website’s goal is to provide the easiest access to available shops and boutiques, and to inform about various events which frequently take place in the Fashion House. Each shop may be presented by means of an individual presentation available directly from the general list on the main page, as well as from the map prepared for each level of the Fashion house, which facilitates orientation among the shops and boutiques in the Printshop.

The company’s history begins in the 90s and the times of cooperation with Swedish companies. Since then, besides dominating the Polish market, AGRA has been profiting more and more on the European markets.
The main goal of the website designed by MakoLab is to properly present AGRA’s products: flagpoles and flags themselves.
The main element of the website it the main menu realized in the flash technology. The drop-down menu allows for quick access to selected products from the offer of AGRA.
Each product has been described in detail and additionally, various construction elements important for a given pole type have been marked on the preview image.
Presentation of a product also contains its technical drawing saved in a pdf file.
Iconography distinguishing particular positions of the tool menu has been developed for the project.

Magellan is a dynamically developing financial institution specializing in financial products and services for subjects operating on the medical market.

Konsorcjum Polskich Biur Podróży (Consortium of Polish Travel Agencies) invites to participate in trips to extraordinary, distant and exotic places; although the offer also includes locations nearer – for example SPA tours at the Polish Baltic Sea.

Łódź is soon to welcome another huge office complex. This time, 4 nine-storey buildings will be constructed on Traktorowa street in the industrial area of Łódź – the place where the edifice of Elektromontaż was located for many years. As a whole, it will be one of the largest office investments in Łódź. In the first phase, a building of 14 000 m2 in surface will be built.

For the needs of this investment, MakoLab has developed a website which describes features and technical solutions applied in the building in great detail. The site is rich with various spectacular visualizations of the object. Sylwester Łoś, programmer, has worked in MakoLab for the last 10 years. Since the arrival of Apple’s new mobile phone, iPhone, 3 years ago, he became interested in developing applications that he would find useful. Working after hours and after taking care of children resulted in the creation of an application called ArtStudio, which triumphs in sale charts of AppStore – the only place where software for iPhone and iPad can be bought. Two weeks ago, the application created by Sylwek reached the 3rd place of the worldwide ranking.
Apart from developing the Lucky Clan company within which he creates applications for iPhone and iPad, he still cooperates with MakoLab in current projects.

After a short brief break – good news from abroad. This time the Iranian department of Renault used the MakoLab RSI-CMS tool and designed a new national website. What is interesting beside the fact that the entire selection of Renault cars is available in Iran, is that the website is bilingual – in international English and a local variety of Arabic language – Farsi.

Naturally in the Arabic version, the website is read from right to left.

Ekoportal.gov.pl is a website belonging to the Center of Environmental Information (Centrum Informacji o Środowisku). CIoŚ is an institution which is formally subordinate to the Ministry of Environment, established for the purpose of informational activity pertaining to the environment and its protection. This activity supports the realization of the policy of environmental protection.

Ekoportal.gov.pl developed by MakoLab is a repository of knowledge for all those who deal with ecology and the environment. Information is organized according to potential recipients and users: administrative units, entrepreneurs and regular citizens. On Ekoportal, we may find both acts of law and information about ecological events.

The message from MakoLab SA president on the occasion of tragic events in Poland

"Moments ago Prime Minister Donald Tusk has officially confirmed the tragic information that left us in a state of utter sadness and shock. In the aircraft catastrophe near Smoleńsk died the President of Poland, his wife, his ministers, the last President of Poland in Exile, the Chairman of the Polish National Bank, the members of the command of the Polish Army, the representatives of the Polish Parliament and all the participating political parties, representatives of various national institutions and social organizations. Significant figures of the Polish political scene have lost their lives. The elite of organizations that fought for preserving historical truth and memory of the times of communism has perished. And finally, ordinary people - the families of the victims of Katyń, the accompanying persons, the officers of the Bureau of Government Security, the pilots - they all have died, on their way to pay respect to the elites of the Second Polish Republic murdered in Katyń.

Another investment of the Arka BZ WBK investment fund received its new website. This time MakoLab is responsible for realization of the website of Ożarów Logistics Center (www.centrumlogistyczneozarow.pl). The perfectly located facility is situated near the Poznań road, which in the future will be in vicinity of the exit from the A2 highway. The facility for rental has 11.000 m2 of warehouse surface and 2.100 m2 of office surface. Manufaktura’s new Internet image created by MakoLab

Poland’s largest commercial-entertainment center has a new image on the Internet. Having created its previous website, MakoLab is once again responsible for the complex realization of the project.

A lot has happened recently in Manufaktura. Opening of various new places: a department of the Art Museum ms2, hotel Andel’s and of new trade and restaurant facilities, has extended the center’s already multifarious offer.

The aim of the new website was to create a place on the Internet that would reflect with its character the image of Manufaktura, combining the brick-oriented design of the past with the latest architectural solutions, and that would become a functional guide to the locations and events taking place in the Łódź-based center.

The number of services and attractions in Manufaktura is enormous and diverse. Our task was to create a portal that would provide easy access to desired information. The Congress of Cadre is the most prestigous event of the HR branch in Poland. This year, during the 10th edition, organized in Sofitel Victoria hotel in Warsaw between 26 and 28 October, the Congress attracted more than 1600 individuals.

One of the points of the program on 27th October 2009 was the presentation lead by President of Board of MakoLab SA, Wojciech Zieliński, together with Ms Alina Strycharz from Strefa Rozwoju. The subject of the lecture was: "Strategy of staff development supporting the business goals of an organization - the example of MakoLab's first experiences with HR". This was a summary of an internal project realized during this year's summer, as a result of which training needs and priorities of MakoLab's staff have been established. MakoLab cooperates in this respect with consultants of Sfera Rozwoju, who have broad experience in leading similar projects in organizations related to modern technologies. It is worth mentioning that this is just a beginning of a long-term project realized by MakoLab SA, the aim of which is to increase competitiveness of the company by improving staff competences.

The Musical Theater of Łódź is one of the most well-known musical scenes in Poland. Due to the renovations taking place for the past two years, the theater's group plays its performances on other Łódź-based scenes. The theater's new website, created by MakoLab, is all the more important. It allows to maintain contanct of the group with the audience and provide up-to-date information about current events and the repertoire.

The new website of the Musical Theater is strong in colours and has a modern character. The startpage announces the Theater's new approach not only towards its presence on the Internet, but as how to communicate its repertoire.
All information related to the current repertoire, event calendar and progress of works is available on further pages. The website is prepared for presentation of rich archival sets and, thanks to MakoLab's advanced content management system, for updating of any data by the theater's team.

On commission of ArkaBZ WBK – the owner of the Red Tower building – MakoLab's team has developed an Internet presentation of the tallest skyscraper in Lodz. The 22-storey building has gone through a thorough renovation during the past few years, thanks to which it obtained an attractive and modern facade, being a characteristic site in the centre of Lodz. The website developed by MakoLab is directed for the most part to the potential tenants. Owing to this, the best presentation of the building's advantages has been emphasized, along with the convenient location and affordable tenancy conditions. This post is the short summary of the conference "Web has a meaning" we had in Lodz a week ago. We organized it to celebrate MakoLab XX years of existence, XX years of the Web and XX years of Freedom of our Motherland.

The summary is:

The “Web has a meaning” conference took place on 28th September 2009 in Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic Orchestra, Łódź to commemorate the 20th anniversary of MakoLab. The subject of the meeting, which gathered nearly 300 participants, was the analysis of the influence of the Web on the development of business. Lecturers from Poland, Austria and France delivered speeches in which they, looking from different points of view, answered the question of how the internet changes modern business.

In the introduction of the conference, Vice-marshal of the county of Łódź, Mr. Witold Stępień and vice-president of Łódź, Mr. Włodzimierz Tomaszewski presented short speeches relating to the 20th anniversary of MakoLab and the subject matter of the meeting.

The conference was opened by President of Board of MakoLab SA, Mr. Wojciech Zieliński, and lead by Mr. Jacek Grudzień – a well-known journalist from Łódź who popularizes the topic of innovative enterprises operating in the region of Łódź.

In the introductory lecture, Vice-president of Board of MakoLab S.A., Dr. Mirosław Sopek, briefly described the history of the Web and focused on the critical moment in its history which is characterized, according to the speaker, by the slow expiry of the formula of Web 2.0 and by the anticipation of a new revolution. According to Sopek, it will consist of introducing semantic solutions, leading to the creation of “a Web full of meaning”.

Jean Philippe Mathes, representing Renault Scope and RCI Banque, presented a lecture of a meaningful title – “Why we fight”. Using references to the famous “Cluetrain Manifest”, he described how difficult the process of introduction of Web solutions in a large corporation was. Relating to the financial web services of RCI Banque, he demonstrated the significance of e-commerce in the auto industry.

Rainer Gangl, representing Austrian agency Gangl Consulting, presented an interesting technological and business model of publishing of advertisements on the Web that still manages to compete with Google ads. He also emphasized the potential social systems such as Facebook provide to business.

Rafał Brzoska, founder and co-owner of Integer.pl, InPost and InPost Finanse demonstrated the meaning of the Web for the traditional business of parcel delivery. The speaker stated that the key to success lies on the junction of network communication and traditional business that cannot be replaced by the web. An interesting part of Brzoska’s speech was the reflection on the threats springing from the universality of network systems.

Sławomir Lachowski – creator of mBank and former president of BRE Bank presented a lecture which emphasized the significance of development of the IT sector and the laws of Moore, Metcalf and Glider associated with it, which are required for proper understanding of the processes taking place in modern business. According to the speaker, the Internet markets realize the ideal model of capitalism as seen by Adam Smith, in which exists complete and unrestricted access to information, variety of buyers and sellers, there are no barriers of entry and the costs of transfers decreased to zero.

After the plenary lectures, a discussion panel with the lecturers took place, during which the image of the Web in the coming decade was discussed. As a conclusion of the interesting talk, Mr. Mirosław Sopek, PhD said that, although the development of technology may be approximately predicted, forecasts regarding its business and social impact and applications are impossible to be conducted.

In the subsequent point of the conference, Mr. Andrzej Walczak, co-founder and co-owner of the Atlas group, initiated a new Internet Project called www.superpolska.info. It will become a portal which, according to the initiator’s aim, will become a casual platform of Communication around places important for its users.

In the second part of the conference, President of Board of MakoLab S.A. Wojciech Zieliński and Michał Jaskólski, the leader of the jury, presented the results of the „Young Talent Contest”. „Visual Search” by Mr. Jacek Ciereszko won the competition, while „Funkee Search” by Mr. Michał Kujawski and Mr. Krzysztof Lewiński received a honorable distinction. The laureates of the contest were awarded with prizes.

The conference was ended by the performance of Affabre Concinui.

Summer 2008 has been unusually hot for MakoLab. During our visit in Istanbul, we began preperations for launching the ColDis system in Turkey; finished works on the Fabryka Diet (Diet Factory) portal, our financial calculators are taking Europe by storm - we implemented them in Germany, Italiy and extended our activties in Spain. On March, 7th 2008 The Supervisory Board of MakoLab S.A. has decided upon fundamental changes in company Management Board.

Upon recommendation of Dr. Mirosław Sopek, the Board appointed Mr. Wojciech Zieliński to the position of the president of the company management board.

Mr. Wojciech Zielinski is 46 years old. He graduated at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Technical University od Lodz (MSc. Eng. in electronics). He passed a state exam for members of supervisory boards of state owned companies. From October 1985 till July 1992 he worked as an teaching and research assistant in the Institute of the Principles of Electrotechnics at the Technical University of Lodz. In 1991-1992 he was specialist programmer at Cervus Ltd. – IT company from Lodz region. In 1992-1999 he was a director of Potronics Ltd. – one of the biggest IT integrator in Lodz region. From October 1999 till the end of February 2008 he worked at the Academy of Humanities and Economics in Lodz – the biggest nonpublic higher education institution in Poland - as: IT manager, pro vice-chancellor for organization, pro vice chancellor for information systems. In 1999-2001 he was Vice President of the Board of IPT Ltd. – training company from Lodz. One of the achievements of Mr. Zielinski was creation of Polish Virtual University (www.puw.pl).

On the same day, the Supervisory Board has appointed Dr. Miroslaw Sopek for the position of vice-president, responsible for international relations of MakoLab SA and for the developement of the company innovative products.

The Management Board of MakoLab S.A. has appointed Mrs Krzysztofa Sopek as general proxy for the company. Until March 7th, 2008 Mrs. Krzysztofa Sopek was vice-president of MakoLab S.A.

A new beta version of the Spanish Renault page was launched on 25 January 2008. One of its elements is a system of car financing created by MakoLab. The system has been implemented in the JSP, XML, Flash and PHP technologies. It is based on 3 components: default offer, operating as a JSP webservice on servers in our Data Center; a finance calculator, created in Flash based on the data from dynamically generated XML files; and Budget Planner - a simulator of financial capabilities of Renault's client. Each element of the aforementioned modules may be freely modified by a web-based BackOffice system accesible to authorised personnel of banks financing the cars customers.

The Fractus system has been implemented in the German department of an international company - ArtGeist. The department''s main task is selling paintings made in Poland, hence the most important goal was to ensure a reliable service of sale processes and storehouse economy. This was achieved through the modification of general multi-lingual mechanisms adjusting the system to the local situation and regulations. Among other features of the system, the sales panel and print-outs of sale-counter documents have been modified. The implementation of Fractus in Hamburg proves its feasibility in geographically distributed organizational structures. It is noteworthy that the distributed database model and communication tools are the most significant advantage of Fractus. These mechanisms allow the system to function independently in a department, while the central system in Poland and the system in German department are constantly provided with all data enabling efficient functioning of their structures. The department may also fully benefit from the integration of the ERP system with sale e-commerce solutions.

A new version of Fractus system has already been released. In comparison to previous version a user’s interface has been rebuilt. Now it is controlled by Ajax technology. It means, that it can process data much faster and more time-efficient than a traditional request - respond model based application. April 25th, 2007 was the first day of fully operating BGP protocol in MakoLab's DataCenter. Our autonomous system number is AS42194. The BGP protocol, the core protocol of the Internet, will make our DataCenter independent from some problems of Internet operations. In a case of any failure of one of our connections to Internet, the traffic is automatically redirected to other connections. The switch to the new routing protocol was almost faultless, what is certainly our great success.
